On range repair
Cold patch on the left of the griddle and a lazy burner beneath it. A blocked orifice and a warped plate. He cleaned one, replaced the other, and it browns evenly again.

Sparking carried on clicking long after the flame had caught. A switch behind the knob was staying closed. He changed it, checked the others on the same rail, then wiped the front down before leaving.
